It'll all Fall down
It is that time of year where the layers of leaves cover the earth, and the temperature begins to drop towards zero Celsius. Kids dress up in cheap scary outfits in search of a sugary treat, while they're oblivious about the true meaning of el dia de los muertos. I am of course talking about the season comprising the colourful months of September to November. Americans refer to it all Fall, but I am more familiar with Autumn.
It Is amazing how much beauty can come from a handful of colour shades found in our environment. It has gotten to that stage in the year where it is too cold for me to walk to school. I now ride my bike, which was kindly donated by my one of my Chicago connections.
As I ride my bike, shades of orange, yellow and red catch my eye. Even if it'll mean I'll be late to my 8am class, I would park my bike to the side of the road and document these natural colour combinations from several different angles. The leaves would cover the green earth like a blanket, as the tops of the trees remained bare.
On one of my regular rides home from school, the sun would peep through the gaps of the seamlessly lifeless tree. The light rays beamed through trees like out of a science fiction film, adding to the already vibrant and erotic image colours. The power of the sun enhanced the strength of these colours which was dominantly seen during the early hours of the morning or in the late evenings as is declined into the horizon.
I experienced such a warm and intensely calm feeling as I measured up these exposures. Planet earth seems to come alive during the Autumn season, even if the tops of trees depict the end of their lifetime. These cooperative colours dominant the settings of all these images and have been an aspect of imagery that has been truly entertaining to explore as I experiment with my photographic knowledge.
