Ever heard of a Clydesdale?
When telling people, I was going to travel down to St. Louis MO, I was told on numerous occasions to be careful. Obviously wherever you go, you need to be mindful of your surroundings and take care of your possessions. St Louis was no more dangerous than Chicago or New York City. The atmosphere in the city itself was very thrilling. The bars and night life on the outskirts of downtown were the highlights of the weekend.
Of course, when you go to visit the city of St. Louis, you cannot go past the Anheuser-Busch Brewery, where the most famous Budweiser beer is brewed. This beer company almost single handily created St. Louis into what it is to this day. The city basically has clean water because of the irrigation systems that the brewery has put into place. Stories also say that Budweiser actually helped end the prohibition, as two crates were brought to FDR at the time, via the famous Clydesdale’s, which influenced him into making the decision. Beer comes to save the day!
In Forest Park, which is strikingly similar in some parks and areas outside Lincoln memorial in Washington D.C. there are many free attractions for all ages to enjoy. Museums, art galleries, science halls and majestic gardens all make up this this huge public area that acts like St. Louis’ own Central Park.
I will no doubt be returning to this city on my return to America. I feel like there is so much more history to this city that I have yet to discover and look into. It is these cities and places that grow my curiosity to see and experience more. All I need is my camera and I will be on my way!
